This kidney-friendly recipe is intentionally low in potassium. If you have CKD stage 3+ and your doctor has recommended potassium limits, this recipe is a smart choice. If you're otherwise healthy, consider adding a potassium-rich side.

🥗 Nutrition Highlights

✓ Tilapia is extremely low in potassium and phosphorus✓ Complete lean protein — 26g per serving✓ Low in saturated fat✓ No added potassium risk

🩺 Why This Recipe Works for Your Conditions

🫘 Kidney-Safe

Tilapia has some of the lowest phosphorus levels of any fish (about 170mg per serving vs. 340mg in salmon). For CKD patients watching phosphorus, tilapia is one of the safest protein sources available. Low potassium and minimal sodium make this a kidney diet staple.

🩸 Diabetes-Friendly

Pure lean protein — virtually zero carbohydrates. No blood sugar impact. High protein from fish promotes satiety.

🫀 Heart-Healthy

While lower in omega-3s than salmon, tilapia is still a lean heart-healthy protein. The olive oil and herbs add cardiovascular benefit.
