High-Potassium Foods
High-potassium foods are usually great — but if you take ACE inhibitors (like lisinopril), ARBs (like losartan), or potassium-sparing diuretics (like spironolactone), your kidneys may be retaining extra potassium already. Too much can cause dangerous heart rhythm changes.
Medications that may be affected:
Lisinopril (Zestril)Losartan (Cozaar)Spironolactone (Aldactone)Enalapril (Vasotec)Ramipril (Altace)

🩺 Why This Recipe Works for Your Conditions

🫀 Heart-Healthy

Avocados are one of the few foods that raise HDL (good cholesterol) while lowering LDL. The monounsaturated fats are extensively studied for cardiovascular benefit.

❤️ Blood Pressure

Avocados are extremely high in potassium — one avocado has more than a banana. Potassium counters the blood pressure-raising effects of sodium.
